Virginia Madsen to Make Documentary

Virginia Madsen will be producing a documentary about acrobatic skiers.

The actress is teaming with Empire 8 Prods and Screen Siren to create a documentary entitled Fighting Gravity, featuring acrobatic skiers.

The documentary will show 15 athletes competing before the International Olympic Committee for a chance to be part of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

For several years, the committee has banned females from competing in the sport.  Acrobatic skiing is currently the only Olympic sport exclusively for men.  The request to allow women to compete is this category is currently being examined by Canadian officials.

Madsen will be producing the documentary with Karly Meola through their company, Title IX Productions.

In the meantime, Virginia Madsen is currently starring in the film The Haunting in Connecticut.  She will also star in Amelia, which hits theatres on October 23.
