According to Variety, actress Virginia Madsen is signing on the film Amelia, a biography based on the famous aviator, Amelia Earhart, who disappeared during her voyage around the world.
Madsen is playing opposite Hilary Swank and Richard Gere, who will portray her husband, editor, George Putnam. Virginia Madsen is taking on the role of Putnam’s first wife, Dorothy Binney.
The film will begin shooting in Canada and South Africa at the end of the month.
Virginia Madsen is featured in the comedy Diminished Capacity with Matthew Broderick which will come out July 4. She is also starring in the dramatic horror The Haunting in Connecticut which is expected to be in theatres this year.
