Visit an exhibit with Sarah Jessica Parker

The actress guides you through a half-century of American fashion.

While waiting for the release of the Sex and the City sequel starring Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress has been busy making an audio guide for your next visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The museum is presenting an exhibit starting May 5 called American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity.

This exhibit follows the evolution of fashion worn by American women from 1890 to 1940, just before the country officially entered World War Two after the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

If you are interested in using the audio guide during your tour of this exhibit, Sarah Jessica Parker’s voice will guide you through and explain the numerous changes that American women went through during this tumultuous 50-year period.

Exhibit curator Andrew Bolton said, "Because of Sex and the City, she is so much associated with New York and with America, and with using fashion as a way to shape identity."

The American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity exhibition ends August 5.
