Discover the United States in a new way, with a tour of some of the country’s wackiest summer festivals, reports TripAdvisor.

Mushroom lovers will flock to Crystal Falls, Michigan for the Humungus Fungus mushroom festival from August 5 to 7, which celebrates the world’s largest mushroom weighing in at 11 tons and covers 37 acres.

Loud talkers can use their outside voice at the National Hollerin’ contest on June 18 at Spivey’s Corner in North Carolina. The contest attracts more than 10,000, and includes fun activities like conch shell blowing and a greasy pole climb.

Gilroy, California is home to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Now in its 33rd year, the festival features a variety of tasty treats that use garlic, including garlic watermelon and chocolate. The ‘Great Garlic Showdown’ on the last day of the festival features a chef’s competition.

You may not want to win at the Summer Redneck Games in East Dublin, Georgia. On July 9, visitors can bob for pig’s feet, and compete in the hupcap hurl, mud-pit belly flop, and redneck horsehoes that feature toilet-seats.

The Heritage Duct Tape Festival in Avon, Ohio is now in its eighth year and includes displays, fashions, and a parade.
