Wali: a film inspired by the Canadian sniper

Den Tolmor, the man behind the Netflix documentary Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom documentary, is currently developing a new film about Canadian sniper Wali, Deadline reports.
The Canadian spent the first two months of the war in Ukraine fighting the Russians. The producer is therefore interested in highlighting his journey, in a feature film entitled The Good Fight. He hopes to start shooting later this year.
The film is inspired by the man nicknamed Wali, a top “lone wolf” sniper who also spent time fighting in Syria. He traveled to Ukraine from late February to early May and, although the Russians claimed to have killed him, he resurfaced in Canada shortly after.
The Good Fight tells the story of a retired Navy Seal who travels to Ukraine to see his son before the onset of Russian aggression forces him into battle. To repair relations with his son, he becomes involved in the fight against the Russians.
“I want to present this story through Western eyes. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Canadian or an American, it’s a story about a guy with a different attitude who gets involved in the Ukrainian situation. Everyone I presented the synopsis to got the message,” Tolmor told Deadline.
So we expect a powerful, moving and true feature film!
