Warner Bros. Cancels Canadian Screenings

Frustrated by the illegal recording taking place in Canadian cinemas, the studio has taken measures to stop all promotional screenings of their forthcoming films.

The first film to be affected by the change will be Ocean’s Thirteen, and will also include the much-anticipated film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

The studio is urging the Canadian government to take a harder line against those individuals caught illegally recording and trafficking films.

Warner Bros. is the first studio to take action in Canada for piracy.  Last year, 20th Century Fox threatened to postpone film releases for the same reason.
