Variety reports that Warner Bros. will produce the film Coco Avant Chanel, which will be directed by Anne Fontaine (Comment j’ai tué mon père), and star Audrey Tautou.
Filming is set to begin on September 15 in Paris, and shoot for 12 weeks. The film is expected to be released next year.
This will be the second film about Coco Chanel. The other film, Chanel & Stravinsky, will explore the relationship between the designer and the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. Anna Mouglalis will play Coco Chanel in Chanel & Stravinsky, which also hits theatres next year.
