In the film, Angelina Jolie plays Christine Collins, a woman in search of her missing son in the 1920s.
When police claim to have found the boy a few months later, the mother realises that he’s the wrong boy. She continues her search, despite the fact that the corrupt police department would like her to keep her mouth shut and brush the mistake under the rug. Inspired by a true story, the incident rocked the California judicial system at the time.
John Malkovich, Jeffrey Donovan, Colm Feore, Amy Ryan and Michael Kelly are also in the film.
