Hooligans is an independent film that tells the story of Matt Buckner unjustly expelled from Harvard.  He goes to live in London with his sister, and discovers football, becoming a fan of West Ham United.

For Elijah Wood, it will be his first starring role since his work in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.  The 24 year-old actor also had a smaller role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with Jim Carrey.
