The first teaser for Milk has been released. In the drama, Sean Penn plays the first politician to reveal his homosexuality in the 1970s.
Harvey Milk was a 40-year-old New Yorker when he moved to San Francisco. Milk was the first elected politician to openly speak about his homosexuality. Milk became the supervisor of San Francisco in 1977, but was assassinated by his colleague, Dan White, the following year. Actor Josh Brolin will play White in the film.
Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna, James Franco, Victor Garber, Denis O’Hare, Stephen Spinella and Eric Stolz complete the cast. The film was shot in San Francisco.
Milk opens in North American theatres on November 28, and elsewhere on December 5.
