Weezer Asks Fans for Help

Weezer fans are being asked to help them write a song.

The band has been known for their connection to fans, but this is pushing that relationship one step further.  Fans now have the opportunity to finish a demo that’s been put on the Internet by the group.

Singer Rivers Cuomo, who was recently injured in a bus accident, said on Radio Weezer, "I wrote this tune, ‘Shusui.’  Now I want to write the lyrics.  Before I do that, I’d like somebody to produce a better demo of the music.  I’ll pay you $208."

The demo is available on the Indaba Music site.  Fans can access the demo and submit their own versions of the track, which seems to be a ballad.  Rivers Cuomo loves to work with the masses, and Weezer’s latest album, Ratitude, features a song with Lil Wayne.

Weezer recently cancelled the remaining shows of their promotional tour when Cuomo’s tour bus was involved in an accident.  The singer suffered several injuries, including a punctured lung.
