Weezer hits the road

Weezer may go out on tour to promote the release of a reissued version of their 1996 cult album, Pinkerton.

Weezer may hit the road to coincide with the reissue of their second album, Pinkerton. It will be released on October 5. Rolling Stone describes the album as a "commercial and critical failure upon its release."

Bass player Brian Bell mentioned this tidbit during an interview backstage at a Colorado music festival last week. He said: "We have a reissue of Pinkerton coming out with new packaging. And I’m praying a Pinkerton tour, where we’ll play all the songs off Pinkerton soon."

Weezer is heading to the UK to perform at the Reading and Leeds music festivals at the end of August.

The band also has a new album, Hurley, coming out on September 13. Fans can listen to the first single off the album, Memories, on Weezer’s MySpace page and can pick up a digital download. Rolling Stone also reports Weezer is also working on a rarities compilation, Death to False Metal.
