WestJet Increases Flights

WestJet is increasing the frequency of some flights and adding new destinations.

WestJet announced changes to its flight schedule for the summer of 2010.  The new plan will include five new routes and the extension of service on 19 international routes.

The 5 new non-stop routes include Vancouver and Kitchener-Waterloo, Vancouver and San Francisco, Edmonton and Kamloops, Edmonton and San Francisco, and Toronto and Puerto Vallarta.

Dr. Hugh Dunleavy, Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Planning for WestJet, explained the additions offered by the company, saying, "This is a strategic expansion of new routes within our network and an extension of flight offerings to some of our key winter routes that remain popular desinations through the summer season."

In addition to new routes, some routes will be extended to be offered 12 months a year.  WestJet also announced a new non-stop flight between Montreal and Las Vegas, which begins on December 17.
