Where the people reign supreme…

Prince is once again bringing his music to the people.

Prince has a longstanding habit of thumbing his nose at record labels. He enjoys cutting out the middle man and taking his music directly to the people. You could say he treats his fans like kings.

The artist known as Prince is at it again. He will release his 27th album, 20Ten, on July 24. Before that, some fans can pick it up for free.

Here’s how: Sunday, July 4, readers who purchase the British Daily Mail can have the album for nothing. People who buy Scotland’s Daily Record or Belgium’s Het Nieuwsblad have their chance on July 10. German fans can grab the new release on July 22 via their country’s edition of Rolling Stone.

There is no word yet on what Prince is planning on this side of the Atlantic.

A spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "Prince feels that charts are just music industry constructions and have little or no relevance to fans or even artists today. Prince’s only aim is to get music direct to those what want to hear it."

Prince also plans to give away the album to people who buy tickets to his London shows in August and September.
