Whitney Houston tanks

The singer disappoints fans yet again, this time in London.

Whitney Houston’s career on stage could very well be over if one is to judge the performance she gave last night at London’s O2 Arena. This was her first concert in the British capital since 1999 and can only be called an unmitigated disaster.

According to fans at the show, Whitney Houston massacred several songs during the set. She could not reach the high notes and let her back-up singers carry the melody on many songs. The concert was so bad that a quarter of the fans left before it ended.

Houston, herself, admitted her voice was not working last night. She told fans, "She don’t want to come, my soprano friend. Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to. She’s getting a little – temperamental, even."

The 46-year old singer has struggled with drug problems in the past and tried to make a comeback with the release of last year’s Look to You. It was her first album of original material since the release of Just Whitney in 2002.

Yesterday (April 25), fans watched a shadow of the former singing sensation as she repeatedly missed high notes, and left out several verses of her hits Greatest Love of All and I Will Always Love You.

Fans took to Twitter to complain that Houston had to take breaks during songs and was often out of breath between songs. She blamed the air conditioning but the system is cutting edge technology and adjusts automatically.

Whitney Houston has two more shows scheduled in London before she carries on with her European tour.
