Actor Will Ferrell is set to star as one of the guests on Man vs. Wild on the Discovery network. The show features host Bear Grylls and a guest who confront the wilderness and find their own means of survival.
The episode with Ferrell, which is expected to air in early June, was filmed in Northern Sweden. The pair had to rappel down from a frozen, 100-foot waterfall, and build shelter to stay warm at night in sub-zero temperatures.
Grylls taught Ferrell how to find food in the frozen pine forest and climb trees, how to construct makeshift snowshoes at the last minute, and even eat a deer’s eye for nourishment. At the end of his adventure, Ferrell was proud of himself and said, "To be able to participate in an episode of ‘Man vs. Wild’ was a thrill of a lifetime, even though I did get urine-drunk, which is sad."
