Adam McKay, a former writer for Saturday Night Live, who also directed Ferrell in Anchorman, is also part of the project. Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas adapted the screenplay.
The film tells the story of forest ranger Rick Marshall and his children Will and Holly. While rafting on a Colorado river, the family is suddenly transported to a strange land populated by dinosaurs.
