New month, new rumor for the Black Eyed Peas. Since the announcement of an extended and well-deserved break, the I Gotta Feeling singers have had to combat rumors that the group is disbanding.
The latest attack comes from TV host Wendy Williams who announced on her show that the rumors were true: Fergie was leaving the band to focus on her family. Williams even went so far as to recommend singer Ashanti as a replacement.
On her website she states, “The sexy and talented Fergie has decided to leave The Black Eyed Peas so she can reportedly focus on other projects, including becoming a mom…Find out who Wendy thinks should fill Fergie’s spot!”
Will.i.am was quick to react to her statement on Twitter:"…So not true … and so not cool.” Last month, Will.i.am spoke out for the first time to help silence rumors of a band break-up.
