Will.i.am, 35, member of the famous musical group Black Eyed Peas, has kept his promise to record a duet with Cher Lloyd, 17, a contestant on Simon Cowell’s UK reality TV show X-Factor, reports Female First.
The rapper says the track will be a “mega smasher.” At the beginning of the television program, the singer and producer helped his friend, Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud, decide which acts would go through to the TV contest’s live shows.
He was so impressed with Lloyd that he recommended Cole should mentor the teen singer – and even showed his support by singing with her during the final on December 10. Although Lloyd finished fourth in the series, she’s in the recording studio with will.i.am, who is delighted with their new material.
“The day after the last xfactor…cher loyd and I went in the studio and made a mega smasher..,” the musician Tweeted on Monday (December 27).
Earlier that month, he showed his support for the young singer on his Twitter page: “If cher doesn’t win shell win with me and my team 🙂 ….Everyone one on xfactor are great singers…(But singers need song writers) cher is a song writer a self contained artist.”
