Rumours are circulating that the actress will win the role. Other names have been whispered, including Marion Cotillard, Cher and Angelina Jolie, but Weisz is believed to be the best contender.
Warner Bros. seems to be interested in having Weisz (The Fountain) audition for the part, but it has not been confirmed.
In the next Batman flick, the story will revolve around a confrontation between Batman and Catwoman. Lee Meriwether played Catwoman in 1966. In 1992, Michelle Pfeiffer wore the suit, as Halle Berry did in 2004.
In the meantime, we can see Rachel Weisz in the film The Brothers Bloom, opening in theatres on May 29.
