Will Smith Explains Controversial Comments

Actor and singer Will Smith is at the heart of a huge controversy regarding comments he made about Hitler.

Last Saturday, the star made comments that were published in a Scotish paper The Daily Record.

Smith, a star who normally keeps away from controversy, stated, "Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today.’ I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good.’"

The newspaper gave the following opinion which preceded Smith’s statement, "Remarkably, Will believes everyone is basically good."

Most papers did not include this comment, twisting Smith’s words. The actor who needed to explain the statement, was furious.

In a press release he stated, "It is an awful and disgusting lie. It speaks to the dangerous power of an ignorant person with a pen. I am incensed and infuriated to have to respond to such ludicrous misinterpretation."

He added, "Adolf Hitler was a vile, heinous, vicious killer responsible for one of the greatest acts of evil committed on this planet."

After these exlanations, the Anti-Defamation League stated that they were satisfied with the clarifications made by Smith. The association was pleased with the speed in which Smith reacted in order to rectify the situation.
