Smith has acquired the rights to make the biographical film on John Keller.
Keller is an ex-Marine who took care of and rescued hundreds of people for five days during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It is still unknown if the project will depict Keller’s entire life, or just his role in the terrible disaster of 2005.
Smith will be producing the film and is also set to play the main character.
In the meantime, the actor has several projects in the making, including Monster Hunger, expected out in 2010. Smith is also producing several projects.
