The Hollywood Reporter announced that Will Smith will join forces once more with I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence.
Lawrence is currently developing the project called The City That Sailed, which will be produced by Smith through his company Overbrook.
Lawrence may also be directing the film, but nothing has been confirmed, nor has there been a confirmation for Smith’s participation in the film.
The story will follow a New York street magician whose daughter lives in England for familial reasons. One day, when visiting a lighthouse, the young girl discovers a room filled with magic candles, and makes a wish to reunite with her father. Manhattan then breaks off of the American continent and starts heading toward Great Britain.
Smith has several projects on the table, including the drama Old Boy set for next year. He is also taking on the prequels to I Am Legend and The Last Pharaoh, and is producing Kung Fu Kid, the new Karate Kid flick starring his son Jaden.
