William and Kate visit fire-ravaged town

Royal couple travels to Slave Lake, Alberta.

Following their visit to Yellowknife, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the fire-ravaged town of Slave Lake in northern Alberta.

On May 15, forty percent of the city was destroyed by fire including the town hall and the shopping center. About 7,000 people were evacuated, and the vast majority returned yesterday to see the Royal Highnesses.

William and Catherine visited the site and met with dignitaries, aid workers and families affected by the tragedy.

Today (July 7), the royal couple will be in Calgary to open the Calgary Stampede and plan to head to the U.S. tomorrow.

On Saturday (July 9), the royals will be attending a BAFTA gala in Los Angeles, and according to Us Weekly, might even be seated next to the entertainment industry’s royal couple, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
