William Monahan to Write Script for The Associate

Variety reports that The Departed screenwriter, William Monahan, was hired by Paramount to adapt The Associate, John Grisham’s popular novel, to the big screen.

Actor Shia LaBeouf will play a Yale student who is about to graduate. He will get manipulated into accepting a job at a prestigious law firm, where he will receive information concerning a multi-million dollar lawsuit.

William Monahan also wrote the scripts for Edge of Darkness starring Mel Gibson and London Boulevard, in which Keira Knightley co-stars with Colin Farrell.
