Wim Wenders Gets the Green Light

Director Wim Wenders has acquired the financial means to film the suspense The Miso Soup.

The company Films Distribution announced that all the finances are in order to make The Miso Soup, directed by Wim Wenders (Don’t Come Knocking).

The Miso Soup is an adaptation of the Japanese novel by Ryu Murakami, which came out in 1998. The psychological thriller tells the story of a serial killer in Tokyo. Willem Dafoe has been asked to play the main character. Filming begins in February 2009, and the film’s release is expected for fall 2010.

Wim Wenders presented his new film, Palermo Shooting, at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 24).
