Wim Wenders Halts Pina Bausch Film Project

Wim Wenders has put a halt on the production of Pina, in order to mourn the death of choreographer Pina Bausch.

The German director has decided to momentarily stop production of his 3D dance film, Pina.

The reason for taking this break is due to the sudden death of the film’s main subject, dance legend Pina Bausch, who died on Tuesday (June 30). Bausch has been said to have revolutionized the world of modern dance.

The choreographer was working with Wenders on the film project, which will be the first ever 3D dance film.

Wenders’ company, Neue Road Movies, announced that it would halt preproduction. After a mourning period, the company will then have discussions with Bausch’s dance company, Tanztheater Wuppertal, to determine in which manner to proceed.

In the meantime, Wenders is also working on a thriller called The Miso Soup, expected out next year.
