Winnie Mandela not thrilled with her film

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is not thrilled with the new film about her life.

NouvelObs reports that lawyers for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela have complained to producers of a new film about the life of their client. They say she was never consulted for the feature film, starring Jennifer Hudson.

The film Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood about her ex-husband, Nelson Mandela, was very successful and Winnie Mandela will soon see her life on the big screen in the film Winnie.

Plans for the new film were announced last year by South African director Darrell J. Roodt.

However, laywers for the firm Bowman Gilfillan state that Winnie Mandela is very worried about this production because she was never approached for consent to the film. They write, "It is difficult to understand how a production bearing the name of an individual who has not been consulted at all could ever be appropriate or tell the full story of that individual."

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela campaigned tirelessly for the release of her husband, Nelson Mandela, during his 27-year imprisonment. The couple separated in 1992, three years after he was released.
