Petersen will enter the world of science-fiction and mystery with the new film for Columbia Pictures. Uprising will be written by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), reports Variety.
Columbia Pictures believes that Petersen is the ideal director for the film, which is a blend of action, suspense and drama. The story follows the resistance efforts of some survivors on Earth after an alien race has occupied the world.
Wolfgang Petersen is also preparing to direct the science-fiction films The Grays and Ender’s Game.
