Three years after he starred in Scoop, Woody Allen will be returning in front of the camera in Alice Ovitz.

Allen is preparing for his role in the film Alice Ovitz, reported Le Parisien.

The director will be in France this fall filming the movie, which is Sophie Lellouche’s first feature film. She has starred in the short film, Dieu, que la nature est bien faite!.

For Alice Ovitz, Allen will star alongside French actresses Marine Delterme (Peau d’ange, Vatel) and Alice Taglioni (Ca$h, Sans arme, ni haine, ni violence). The details of the screenplay have not yet been revealed.

The last time Allen starred in a film was for the 2006 movie Scoop, which he also directed.

On June 19, Woody Allen’s new film, Whatever Works, will be released in select theatres. He is currently working on another project, for which we know few details, except that the cast includes Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas.
