Wretch 32 not confident of MOBO glory

Wretch 32 insists he has no chance of winning any prizes at the MOBO Awards this year and believes his best chance to win anything at the ceremony has come and gone.

Wretch 32 doesn’t think he stands a chance of winning any MOBO awards this year.

The ’24 Hours’ hitmaker is up for three accolades, Best Male Act, Best UK Hip Hop/Grime act and Best Song for ‘Black Out’, his collaboration with Shakka, but he has dismissed his chances of going home with a prize because he insists there is plenty of good competition standing in his way.

Wretch – who went home empty handed in 2011 after being nominated for four awards – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ”I’m not really feeling too confident, I think my MOBO year was about three years ago.

”Good luck to everyone who is nominated though. Disclosure, Wiley and Tinie Tempah are going to be tough to beat.”

While Wretch isn’t expecting any MOBO glory, he is delighted his new track ’24 Hours’ appears on video game FIFA 14, and insists the feat is one of his best musical achievements in his career to date.

He added: ”People always ask me what are the highlights of my career and I always sit there and scratch my head.

”So many cool things happen outside of music and something like this – having my track on a game that I grew up saving up for is a massive accomplishment.

”It’s something you don’t plan for. You don’t think, ‘OK, I’m going to get into music and then I’m going to get a song on FIFA.’ It’s just something that happens and when it happens you’re ecstatic.”

Wretch 32’s track ’24 Hours’ appears in EA SPORTS FIFA 14, out now on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from Game.co.uk.
