Writer’s Strike Causes Another Cancellation

Vanity Fair magazine has cancelled their annual Oscar party due to the writer’s strike in Hollywood.

A statement was released by the magazine that read, "After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party."

The magazine also took the opportunity to congratulate the artists who have been nominated for Oscars, and promised that they will host their party next year.

Although the Writers Guild of America, who represents the writers of Hollywood, have promised not to picket the Grammy Awards, it is still uncertain whether picketing is planned for the Oscar Awards, which would compromise the red carpet portion of the ceremony.  Therefore, the event’s organisers are making a change, but will not cancel the show, which will take place on February 24 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
