Wyclef’s candidacy rejected?

Wyclef Jean may not be able to run in Haitian election.

Rapper Wyclef Jean’s candidacy for Haiti’s presidential race may have been rejected, reports Music- News.

An election official has revealed that Wyclef isn’t currently on the list of candidates selected to run in the forthcoming Presidential elections in Haiti.

It seems that Jean doesn’t meet all the legal requirements to run in the elections, one of which is that all candidates must have resided in Haiti over the last five years.

The former Fugees member had hoped that the fact that he was appointed Haitian ambassador in 2007 would suffice for his application be accepted.

The same official revealed that Jean had not met several of the electoral conditions.

The star has refused to comment until officials confirm tha tthey’ve rejected his candidacy.

This week, we also learned that Jean was in hiding in a secret Caribbean location after receiving death threats in connection with his involvement in the presidential race.

On November 28 that the Haitians will elect a successor to President René Préval, current President of Haiti.
