Yves Rocher bottles happiness

Moment de Bonheur features complex fragrance of hybrid rose species.

French cosmetics firm Yves Rocher believes that happiness can come in a fragrance. Moment de Bonheur (Moment of Happiness) is a floral rose scent that makes its debut next month.

The fragrance was created by Annick Menardo of Firmenich, and the roses at the heart of Moment de Bonheur are Rosa Centifolia – literally hundred-petaled rose from Grasse in the Provence region of France.

Prized for their singular fragrance – clear and sweet, with light notes of honey, production of the complex hybrid roses has shrunk bit by bit over time, and today, only a few dozen kilos of this flower are available each year.

Top notes of Moment de Bonheur incorporate green and spicy aromas of green leaves and stems as the fragrance opens, an overture to rose notes blooming at the heart of the composition.

The heart accentuates rose buds which highlight femininity and softness of the perfume. The core of the fragrance is as smooth as satin. Base notes include warm, earthy nuances of patchouli and woody cedar chords.

The bottle emulates the colors of a rose on a stem, with pink hues descending to a green which melts to sunlight yellow. The simple rectangular shape is topped with a reflective crystal cap that sparkles like a precious stone.

Yves Rocher’s Moment de Bonheur is available in October as 50 ml eau de parfum for $59, perfumed body lotion for $25, and perfumed body wash for $20.
