Yves Saint Laurent’s new muse

American model Arizona Muse is the new face of Yves Saint Laurent.

Luxury French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent features American model Arizona Muse as the face of their spring-summer 2011 advertising campaign, reports Vogue.

Artistic director Stefano Pilato, successor to French designer Yves Saint Laurent, chose the American newcomer to represent their latest fashion collection. Shot by the photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Pilato returned to the founder’s Moroccan sanctuary for the setting of this latest campaign – the gardens of Bled Roknine, a 1930s-style villa in Marrakech, reports WWD.

Muse replaces Daria Webowy as the face of the brand and poses in the bare-shouldered dress she wore to close YSL’s show in October during Paris Fashion Week

The campaign is set to run concurrently with an exhibition of Saint Laurent’s Moroccan-inspired designs at the Jardin Majorelle. Last month, the designer’s partner, Pierre Bergé, published a book, Yves Saint Laurent, une passion marocaine, which detailed their time together in Morocco

Muse, who is new to the world of fashion, made her debut during last Fashion Week in Milan, when she modelled for Balenciaga and Prada in September. This was a great year for Arizona Muse, whose images in Prada and YSL campaigns makes her one of the breakout stars to watch in the coming year.

The new advertising campaign will be unveiled in magazines in the month of January.
