Zac Efron Drops Out of Footloose Remake

Zac Efron has decided to drop out of the remake of the film Footloose.

Fans hoping to see Efron in the upcoming Footloose film will be disappointed, as he announced that he will no longer be part of the cast.

The High School Musical star feels that making another musical film will not be the right direction for his career.  He is hoping to find more serious roles to showcase his talents as an actor.

The news was a total surprise to studio management, who had been counting on Efron for the project since last July.

Efron starred in the drama Me and Orson Welles with Claire Danes, which should have been released last year, but now rumour has it that the movie may never make it to theatres.

We can next see Zac Efron in the comedy 17 Again, which opens on April 17.
