Florian Xhekaj battles Nicolas Deslauriers
We’re used to Arber Xhekaj’s fights, but today it was Florian Xhekaj who stole the show, scoring earlier in the game. But the youngster really wants to impress his brother… or his mother… or the Canadiens… or everyone in the end. In the second period, he threw down the gloves against none other than Nicolas Deslauriers.

Well, the result wasn’t necessarily the most conclusive for Arber’s little brother, but hats off to his determination. The Québécois is 30 pounds heavier than he is… Florian is just one pass away from a Gordie Howe hat trick [content-ads] I don’t think Xhekaj will start the season in Montreal: places are limited, but so far he’s left a good calling card. Not only is he turning heads, but if he keeps this up, he’ll earn his first call-up to the big club, that’s for sure. As we discussed this morning, Martin St-Louis wants sandpaper. As for Deslauriers, he has now danced with both brothers during his career. The next step is to integrate him into the family [spacer title=’Prolongation’] In any case, Florian has impressed Georges Laraque. Maybe soon we’ll see him with Laraque in Brossard…
Maybe I’ll have to add a colt to my gang… He did well against a real one though!
