GOT prequel « House of the Dragon

The many fans of the series Game of Thrones will be happy to know that the new series House of the Dragon will be presented on HBO next summer.

The highly anticipated prequel to the fantasy series will premiere on August 21, the broadcaster announced.

House of the Dragon is based on the novel Fire & Blood by authorGeorge R.R. Martin. The series will take place some 200 years before the events of the original series. The 10 episodes will follow House Targaryen, the blond, dragon-riding clan from which Daenerys Targaryen descends.

For this new series, HBO relies among others on Emma D’Arcy(Daenerys Targaryen), who made her name in the TV seriesTruth Seekers andHanna, among others. In addition to D’Arcy, Matt Smith(The Crown, Doctor Who) will play Prince Daemon Targaryen, son of King Viserys and younger brother of the princess, Steve Toussaint (Prince of Persia) will playLord Corlys Velaryon, and Olivia Cooke will play Alicent Hightower.

HBO Max is currently working on five projects related to Game of Thrones.
