James Blunt Tops the Chart

Blunt, who was awarded the title of Best British Artist at last month’s Brit Awards, has topped the singles list with his song, You’re Beautiful.

The last British artist to have the number one song in the US was Elton John, with Candle in the Wind/Something in the Way You Look Tonight in 1997.  The song was recorded after the sudden death of Princess Diana.

James Blunt’s CD is currently in the number 5 position on the US sales charts, and has already sold more than 6 million copies world-wide.
