Jay-Z Speaks About His Upcoming Album
Jay-Z was really impressed with the Ridley Scott film, American Gangster, that he decided to use the same name for an album that is not a soundtrack for the movie.
In an interview with the New York Times on Thursday, the rapper and president of Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam Records announced that this album will be released on November 6, just four days after the movie will have been playing in theatres.
Earlier this week, a source that listened to two singles from this album, told MTV that they resemble the material from Blueprint, an album launched in 2001 which had tremendous success with Heart of the City.
The producer of the movie, Brian Gazer, stated that Jay-Z cannot record an album using the same name as his movie which takes place in the 1970s. Gazer was hoping for a soundtrack, but Jay-Z was not the right person for the job.
