Jimi Hendrix Named Best Guitarist

The readers of Classic Rock magazine chose Hendrix for the coveted title.  The Hey Joe and Foxy Lady singer topped competition from Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Scott Rowley, the editor of Classic Rock, discussed the choices of his readers.  For Rowley, Hendrix possessed "devastating technique" and "redefined the term ‘guitar hero’".
