Johnny Depp Becoming an Addict

According to the BBC, actor Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings) will make his directorial debut on the film. 

Addict was inspired by the autobiography of Steven Smith.  The story follows his life and the price he pays for his addiction to amphetamines, which leads to him to a life of crime and homelessness.

Production on the movie is set to start this summer.
