Contradictory to earlier reports, the musician’s representative has said that his client will not need to undergo brain surgery.

Richards, who fell from a tree while vacationing in Fiji last weekend, was transported to a New Zealand hospital where he was treated for head injuries.  The injuries were causing violent headaches, and it was thought that surgery would be necessary to correct the problem.  Fran Curtis, a spokesperson for Richards, 62, said, "He’s feeling good and in good spirits."

The Rolling Stones are enjoying several weeks of holiday before beginning their world tour in Barcelona on May 27.  According to Curtis, Richards will be performing for the concerts.  It is unknown when the guitarist will leave New Zealand.
