Kim Basinger Faces Jail

The star of the film LA Confidential must respond to 12 contempt of court charges regarding the custody agreement with her ex-husband, actor Alec Baldwin, for their daughter.

If the actress is found guilty, she could spend sixty days behind bars and be fined $12,000.

Baldwin alleges that the actress is systematically attempting to distance him from their daughter, Ireland, 11.

The two former spouses have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle since 2004 over their only child.  The case will be heard today by the Los Angeles Superior Court.
