Live Earth Concerts Take Shape
On July 7, seven Live Earth shows will be presented around the world to raise awareness of global warming.
Seventeen artists have agreed to participate at London’s Wembley Stadium. In addition to the headliners, the Foo Fighters, Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, the Beastie Boys, David Gray, Damien Rice, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, Bloc Party, Corinne Bailey Rae, Keane and Paolo Nutini will all perform.
Tickets for the concert will be sold through a drawing.
The details of the other Live Earth concerts will be revealed in the next few days. Shows will be presented in the United States, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo.
The Live Earth concerts have been put together by former American Vice-President Al Gore. Gore recently earned an Oscar for his documentary on climate changes entitled An Inconvenient Truth.
