Lollapalooza Getting Big Names
Lollapalooza which had to be cancelled in 2004, due to its rather unorthodox formula, is being done only in Chicago.
Organizer Perry Farrell, former singer of group Jane’s Addiction, confirmed the participation of big stars such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West and Wilco.
In addition to these artists, the 2006 edition will feature shows by Common, Manu Chao, Queens of the Stone Age, The Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, Matisyahu, Ween, the Raconteurs, Flaming Lips, Ryan Adams, Sonic Youth, Thievery Corporation, Sleater-Kinney, Broken Social Scene, New Pornographers, Secret Machines, Gnarls Barkley, Cursive, Stars, Calexico, Nada Surf, Nickel Creek, Lady Sovereign, Feist, the Frames, Sparta, Jeremy Enigk, Wolfmother et Eels.
The show will be in Chicago on August 4-6, and tickets will be sold for $45.00. Organizers expect to sell 30 000 tickets.
Rumours keep circulating that Smashing Pumpkins may have it together in time to be able to perform at this concert..
