Meet Mila, P.K. Subban’s inspiration
The P.K. Subban Foundation ‘s Instagram account shared a touching and inspiring photo of a little girl named Mila, who overcame an autoimmune disease, and has had to learn to walk again ever since.
This all happened when she was only 17 months old.
Her great resilience has inspired many, including Subban, who has developed a close relationship with Mila.
Here is the message that accompanies the photos of the warrior Mila:
« Remember Mila?
She’s been one of @subbanator ‘s biggest fans for years! She is also know as Mila the Warrior Princess. When she was just 17 months old, a simple cold triggered an autoimmune disease with devastating effects – within hours, she became paralyzed from the neck down and wasn’t able to breath by her own. Mila has been fighting every day since. Fortunately, she has recovered from her breathing issue. Her family, as well as numerous doctors and medical professionals, watch her sweat it out on the daily. Mila’s resilience knows no bounds. The goal is to get her walking again soon and the use of her new Levity – smart walking aid trainer – is helping tremendously. And through it all, she and her family find time to volunteer and help raise funds for The Children’s. P.K. is super inspired by kids like Mila who never give up. #PKSubbanFoundation »
