Mel Gibson Formally Charged

The actor and director was found to be over the legal limit for alcohol when he was stopped by police in Los Angeles.  Last Friday, Gibson was driving at a rate of 87 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone in Malibu.

If found guilty of the charge, Gibson could spend up to six months in prison.  During the arrest, the Hollywood star also made several anti-semetic comments.  Following his arrest, Gibson publicly apologised, saying, "Please know from my heart I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith."
