Mental health: Shawn Mendes cancels tour

Shawn Mendes has just announced that he is putting his career on hold to « take some time » and focus on his mental health.

The Canadian singer just cancelled the rest of his world tour Wonder just three weeks after postponing some dates. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter released a lengthy statement on Instagram, in which he explained why he decided to pull the plug on the tour so that he could « take the time I’ve never taken personally. »

« As you know, I had to postpone the last few weeks of shows because I wasn’t fully prepared for the ordeal of getting back on the road. I went into this tour excited to get back on stage after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is that I was completely unprepared for the difficulty of touring after this period of absence. »

Shawn Mendes, however, said he still plans to honor those canceled concerts in the future.

The singer ended by telling his fans:

« I love you all and thank you so much for supporting me and sticking by me through this journey. »
