Michael Jackson Breaks the Silence
His first statement was made on his own official website, after a four month trial for sexual abuse of a minor.
"Your love, support and loyalty made it all possible. You were there when I really needed you. I will never forget you," Jackson said in a statement posted Sunday on his official Web site. "Your ever-present love held me, dried my tears, and carried me through. I will treasure your devotion and support forever. You are my inspiration."
Michael Jackson was found not guilty on June 13, by a jury in Santa Maria, California. The singer, 46, had ten counts of sexual abuse of a minor, age 13. If he had received a guilty verdict, he could have had 18 years, 9 months in prison.
